Sony's PlayStation Blog post, written by Santa Monica Studio communications director Grace Orlady on September 28, says pre-orders "officially go live" on September 29 at 10:00am local time. Sony did not publish a region-by-region schedule, so read that as 10:00 a.m. where you are, and check your own store at that hour.
When we checked the US PlayStation Store listing on September 28, it showed a wishlist button, no price and no pre-order button yet.
The release date is February 16, 2027, exclusively on PS5. Santa Monica Studio revealed it at the June 2 State of Play, with Deborah Ann Woll back as Faye, Kratos's wife, who wakes up after her funeral in the Everywhen, an afterlife of gods from several mythologies.
What the pre-order bonus includes
Per Sony, a God of War Laufey pre-order, meaning any copy bought before launch, gets you:

Sony's post describes the Scales as a way to change the bow's appearance and specialize its playstyle "via a unique perk", so the Dark Alchemy items are not purely cosmetic. Sony has not said how strong those perks are.
Does the Digital Deluxe Edition also get the pre-order bonus? Sony's wording ties the bonus to buying "before launch", not to an edition, so pre-ordering the Deluxe should qualify. 9to5Toys goes further and lists the bonus as part of the Deluxe contents, but Sony's own list of Deluxe items does not include the Last Wish set, so check the store page before you buy after launch.
Physical or digital: what you can buy
Based on Sony's announcement, the options look like this:
- Standard Edition, physical: the full game on disc, with the pre-order bonus as a download code.
- Standard Edition, digital: the full game from the PlayStation Store, with the pre-order bonus if you buy before launch.
- Digital Deluxe Edition: digital only, as the name says. Sony has not announced a disc version of it.
What Sony hasn't announced yet
As of September 28, 2026, Sony has not said:
